“6R” Rustic - Available in 4/4 Northern Black Walnut, Northern White Oak, Hickory and Northern Cherry
Characteristics of our Proprietary “6R” include but are not limited to the following:
- Minimum 75% of each board usable in its full width
- Widths Net 5 ½” – 8 ½” (140mm – 215mm) on a 40/40/20 width distribution
- Lengths: 4’-12’ (1220mm – 3660mm) Heavy to 7-8’ (2135mm – 2440mm)
- Knot size limitations 3” (76mm) – Open knots or holes allowed up to 1” (25mm) in diameter
- Minimum full width x 2’ (610mm) cutting size
Also note:
- The reverse side of each cutting will be defined as sound cuttings and omit holes and open knots >1”. (25mm)
- Wane: 1” width wane in aggregate from both sides of the board in cuttings. Total wane < ½ length of board in cuttings
- Board Ends: within 1’ (305mm) of either end of board piece must be min. 75% of full width of board, or be trimmed back.
“9R” Rustic - Available in 4/4 Northern Black Walnut, Northern White Oak and Hickory

- Knot size limitations 3” (76mm) – Open knots or holes allowed up to 1” (25mm) in diameter
- Minimum full width x 2’ (610mm) cutting size

“DYQ” Distribution Yard Quality - Available in 4/4 & 8/4 Northern Black Walnut
Characteristics of our Proprietary “DYQ” grade include but are not limited to the following:
- Color: 90/50 minimum heartwood spec *Widths: 5” (115mm) and wider, Avg. width is 7” (178mm) or better
- Lengths: 7’ (2130mm) and longer, 60% or better random lengths up to 14’ (4270mm) available
- Clarity: Higher FAS Percentage, High quantities of Clear 1 Face.
This is due to the selection of higher grade logs that are sent to the saw. - Grade and Manufacturing: *Wane restricted to < 1”(26mm) aggregate width *Near square edge appearance achieved
- High quality, attractive packaging
